Chamomile and Lavender Calming Tea

If you're looking for a nice relaxing evening tea, I've got the perfect cup for you! Chamomile and Lavender Calming Tea.

Lavender triggers chemical reactions in the nervous system. It increases the production of dopamine to help induce sleep and also reduces cortisol which is the body's stress hormone. Chamomile provides a calming effect due to the antioxidant Apigenin. Which binds receptors in the brain that promotes sleepiness and helps with insomnia. Add the two together and you have an amazing sleep inducing tea.

If you'd like to brew your own just follow the steps below:

1. Boil 2 cups of water.

2. Add 2-3 teaspoons of dried chamomile and 1 teaspoon of dried lavender to a tea infuser ball or tea bag.

3. Steep with lid on sauce pot or tea pot for 8 minutes.

4. Remove tea infuser or tea bag.

5. Pour your tea into a mug and sweeten with honey if needed.
