Cuppa Hot Cocoa

 

Ingredients:

4 cups almond milk, unsweetened
1 cup half and half
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 to 1/2 cup coconut sugar or sugar substitute such as monk fruit
4 tablespoons pure maple syrup or pure raw honey
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 pinches of cinnamon
1 pinch of nutmeg
1 tiny pinch of salt

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan combine almond milk and half and half, heat on medium until the milk is warm, stir often to avoid burning. 

2. Once warm, add your cocoa powder, maple syrup/honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt into your milk. 

3. Stir until all ingredients are mixed well and your cuppa cocoa is the perfect temperature for your liking. 

4. Finally add your coconut sugar/sugar substitute starting with a 1/4 of a cup to 1/2 cup depending on the sweetness you prefer and give it a good stir until dissolved.

5. Pour into your favorite mug, sprinkle with shaved chocolate, marshmallows and/or whipped coconut cream. And enjoy!!!
